Once again a walk down the lane finds me kicking through the early Autumn leaves and admiring the cobwebs in the hedgerows with their haul of dewdrops. Can summer really be over already? The mist drifting across the valley and the blackberries in the field certainly seem convincing though we haven't been tempted into lighting our fires yet as it's so mild.
At this time of year we are looking forward to more of the mild weather strolls and changing colours before the big Atlantic storms start rolling in for a more exhilarating walk on the Coast Path. It's a perfect time to take in the quieter beaches and fishing villages now without the crowds, and just to find the best spot to curl up with a good book and a cuppa.
For those travelling with children it's a great time to get out into the wilds and explore without queueing for parking or icecreams all day long and all the usual attractions are fully open.
For those travelling with four legged family, whilst Welcombe Mouth Beach is always dog friendly, some restrictions are lifted off other nearby beaches and you can take them out and about without them being trodden on or overheating.
Whatever you may be looking forward to the most about your Autumn break, we hope you'll find it here in our peaceful spot by the sea, whether it's for a quick 2 night escape from routine or a 2 week holiday for a full reset.
Happy leaf kicking and blackberry scrumping all!
